    Here's Where You Come In ?

    We are currently seeking a Workers' Compensation Analystto join our growing Risk Management ~~~ this position you will serve as a client advocate by analyzing trends, creating solutions, and expediting claims closure while maintaining excellent communications with all parties. The Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist is an integral part of the Risk Management Team, collaborating with team members and regional sales partners to secure new, complex risk clients, and then retaining those clients with hands-on, in-depth claims and analytic servicing.

    Essential duties and responsibilities include:

    Claims Analytics

    • Evaluating loss experience by division, location, or operation for management purposes

    • Evaluating loss experience by injury cause and injury type for safety management purposes

    • Loss trending to establish projected future loss values.

    • Assisting clients considering deductible or self-insured retentions to develop realistic loss projections based upon historical loss trends.

    • Audits Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau experience rating forms for accuracy; reports errors to carriers and requests corrections be submitted to Bureau; clarifies issues with Bureau in terms of classification, corrections and other claims issues.

    • Discusses new and existing WC (Workers Compensation) claims with clients and advises on the best approach for moving claims through the resolution and closure process.

    • Assists with claims submission and response support.

    • Coordinates WC claims reviews with clients and carriers; keeps Producers updated.

    • Enters, updates and maintains accurate claims activities in EPIC.

    • Ensures claims are being handled appropriately by carriers and are moving toward closure.

    • Advocates for lowering reserves on open claims for premium purposes

    Claims Consulting

    • Discusses new and existing WC claims with clients and advises on the best approach for moving claims through the resolution and closure process.

    • Assists with claims submission and response support.

    • Coordinates WC claims reviews with clients and carriers; keeps Producers updated.

    • Enters, updates and maintains accurate claims activities in EPIC.

    • Ensures claims are being handled appropriately by carriers and are moving toward closure.

    • Advocates for lowering reserves on open claims for premium purposes.

    • Assists clients with implementing and maintaining Return to Work programs.

    • Drives client culture and process change to mitigate WC-related losses.

    • Provide training to clients on effective WC claims management and assist with relevant policy development and implementation.

    • Fields calls from insureds, claimants, adjusters, etc. and research issues as needed to resolve open claims.

    • Advocates and acts as a liaison between clients, service teams and carriers.

    • Supports clients with subject matter expertise.

    You're Great At ?

    Ideally, you possess and exhibit the following:

    • 5+ years Worker's Compensation claims experience required

    • Experience with implementing new clients, presenting claims reviews, troubleshooting service issues and presenting in sales and pre-renewal meetings requested.

    • Prior experience within agency or carrier setting

    • Understanding of Experience Modifier and ability to analyze and project estimates with appropriate supporting documentation.

    • Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel, Applied system desired

    • Ability to read detailed documents

    • Ability to write grammatically correct business correspondence such as letters, e-mails, memoranda

    • Strong verbal communication skills to articulately relay necessary information to co-workers and clients

    • Skill in maintaining existing filing system and database

    • Ability to exercise judgment to problem solve when the answer is not readily apparent

    • Ability to set priorities, which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
