    Job Summary

    Battelle is seeking a Technical Recruiter . The position is located in Columbus, OH (Open to Fully Remote). The Recruiter will be responsible for handling the full lifecycle recruiting and must have a solid ability to multi-task, be organized, have a sense of urgency, and be forward-thinking. The ideal candidate will have experience recruiting in one or more technical or scientific fields, including but not limited to, advanced material science, biology, chemistry, cybersecurity, data science, engineering, medical technology, and neurotechnology.

    Manages the complete recruitment cycle, including creative candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluating candidate fit, managing requisition and applicant information through Battelle's ATS, and negotiating and extending offers.


    • Recruits for exempt and non-exempt scientific, technical and professional candidates. Manages a requisition load of approximately 30 - 50 open requisitions, based on need.

    • Provides full service recruiting including: matching candidates to job profiles; thorough screening of candidates; recommendations for hire through telephone and in-person interviews; comprehensive compensation analysis and salary recommendations. Extends Offers of Employment on behalf of Battelle.

    • Utilizes direct sourcing methods to identify candidates (including passive candidates) to develop a substantive pool of qualified and diverse applicants for each position. Contacts and maintains wide networks for generating applicant referrals.

    • Ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws and policies and maintains up-to-date internal policies. Adheres to compliance, diversity and talent acquisition processes.

    • Ensures consistent communication of recruiting challenges and successes to Hiring Managers.

    • Participates in career events as Battelle representative, as needed.

    • Administers background checks and pre-employment drug testing.

    • Assists with projects and/or programs as required by Director, Talent Acquisition

    Key Qualifications

    • Requires a Bachelor's degree; 2 years of recruiting or staffing experience to include sourcing, networking, qualifying candidates, telephone screening, interviewing; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.

    • Knowledge of applicable employment laws is required.

    • Must have demonstrated working technical knowledge of recruiting techniques, including standard and non-standard recruiting methods, internet mining, direct sourcing and networking with referrals for leads.

    • Must have the ability to handle a high volume of work in a process-oriented environment.

    • Must be detail oriented with excellent written communication skills.

    • Demonstrated Web Research and Computer experience, including proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience with Success Factors and/or Applicant Tracking Systems.
