JOB SUMMARY: Vice President, Special Products is responsible for strategic design, implementation and day-to-day operations for specialty products focused on the community-based, chronically ill Medicaid eligible market.
Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for the fiscal and operational management of the managed long-term care business to achieve or exceed performance standards and budgets. 2. Responsible for maintaining all required regulatory compliance and liaison to all Virginia Beach support services to ensure that all local, state and federal regulations are met. 3. Responsible for and leads the performance management activities for LTC and assists in developing policy and programs to achieve business results through effective financial management. 4. Assists the COO with development of the LTC annual administrative, medical and capital budget process for LTC. 5. Assists the COO with management of monthly reporting and review of financials/accruals. 6. Assists the COO with aspects of local and state government relationships, including dealing with regulators to establish and continue effective working relationships. 7. Ensures that all educational programs are developed to enhance professional ability of staff including the orientation and training of new staff as well as current associates. 8. Ensures Case Management and provider Relations staff work together to ensure cost effective providers are contracted and utilized. 9. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education Required: - Baccalaureate Degree in Business or Health Care Administration or equivalent experience in the healthcare industry. Preferred: Master's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration or Public Health . Years and Type of Experience Required:Required: - 12 years of in-depth experience in the HMO/healthcare and Long-Term Care industry - 10 years of successful management experience with a demonstrated record of hiring and developing personnel Preferred: Specific Technical Skills Required: - Knowledge of State Managed Long-Term Care Program - Knowledge of Medicare and State Medicaid regulations Preferred: Certifications or Licensure Required: Driver license for Plan's state. Preferred: Other Required: - Significant business experience operating a business unit servicing the elderly, chronically ill or disabled populations. - Strong business awareness in working in a capitated reimbursement environment. - Experience in the enrollment process the appropriate state agency. - Experience providing successful leadership and management of an entrepreneurial organization in the midst of rapid growth. - Understanding and knowledge of the health care industry, specifically as it relates to contemporary and future trends in the delivery of health care services in a managed care environment. - Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. - Appreciation of cultural diversity.
