Job Summary:
The VP of HR is responsible to effectively direct the Human Resource functions to ensure optimal operations within established standards and is responsible for the financial viability, planning and success of that department. The stewardship of this position includes constituent satisfaction and financial performance.
Essential Duties:
Plans for operational improvement opportunities, and develops the Human Resource Department budget, plus the Hospital wide salary increase and benefits budgets appropriate to the hospital's philosophy and mission.
Responsible for maximizing the financial resources of the department's operation, and providing direction for the activities of the Human Resource Department.
Develops and maintains policy and procedure manuals.
Develops, monitors and maintains salary and benefits programs for the Hospital.
Responsible for employee relations and Human Resource related legal/regulatory issues.
Maintains active membership on Policy Committee, Tuition Reimbursement Committee, Facility Security Committee and Facility Ethics & Compliance Committee.
Organizes and completes work in a timely and professional manner.
Manage and administer a wage and salary system.
Meets or exceeds the hospital's goals of employee/customer satisfaction for the Human Resource Department.
Espouses and integrates a philosophy of quality. Sets an example for change and new concepts.
Ensures effective communications at all times.
Adheres to the Hospital's policies and demonstrates compliance with the Code of Ethics.
Understands and espouses professional Human Resource philosophy and hospital mission as it applies within the Human Resource Department.
Adheres to the Hospital's Safety Policies and demonstrates safe practices.
Has frequent interaction with corporate Human Resource staff, all levels of hospital staff, and community leaders. Must have the sensitivity, maturity and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Requires leadership abilities, professionalism, common sense, flexibility, honesty and a service-oriented attitude.
