Undergrad Intern - Quality Engineering
Amgen's Quality department in our Rhode Island location is looking for an undergraduate student interested in a 10 - 12 week internship to play a key role in enabling the implementation of the gage stability system. Specific objectives and milestones include: • Analyzing and quantifying the measurement error of one or more gages used at ARI from a pre-determined list. This may take the form of a historical analysis and/or an experimental approach. • Designing an approach in which that measurement error can be calculated in an automated or semi-automated way as an input into the larger monitoring system • Providing a summary report at the end of the experience to transfer the technical and organizational knowledge that the intern has gained to the larger team.
The intern is expected to gain experience and learn in the following areas: • Technical: gain an understanding of how various pieces of lab testing equipment work; learn about statistics in the form of measurement variation, gage R+R, and process control; gain an appreciation for the importance of measurement error in a production environment. • Leadership: gain the trust and buy-in from a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, learn presentation skills, technical writing skills, and how to disseminate knowledge within an organization
