Job/Project Description: Amgen's Industrial Engineering department in our Rhode Island location is looking for undergraduate students interested in a 10 - 12 week internship to support Amgen Rhode Island's continuous improvement efforts which include process and change over cycle time reductions in a bulk biologics production plant. The candidate will gather and analyze process data and perform direct observation of processes to identify waste and lead small improvement efforts to eliminate waste. The candidate will be trained on Amgen's improvement methods (Lean and 6-Sigma) to make these types of improvements.

Basic Qualifications Must be in the process of pursuing a Bachelors degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: • Must be 18 years or older; • Must be a current full time student • Must have completed at least one full year of study at the time of application; • Must have not yet graduated; • Must be in good academic standing within their majors and overall at their university; • Must be enrolled in school the fall season following the potential internship or co-op assignment. • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications • Prefer a candidate who is entering their Senior year • Candidate who has successfully completed a class in Lean.
