Job/Project Description: Amgen's Industrial Engineering department in our Rhode Island location is looking for a undergraduate student interested in a 28 week co-op to support Amgen Rhode Island's continuous improvement efforts which include process and change over cycle time reductions in a bulk biologics production plant. The co-op will gather and analyze process data and perform direct observation of processes to identify waste and lead small improvement efforts to eliminate waste. The co-op will be trained on Amgen's improvement methods (Lean and 6-Sigma) to make these types of improvements. There is flexibility in the length of the co-op.

Basic Qualifications Must be in the process of pursuing a Bachelors degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: • Must be 18 years or older; • Must be a current full time student • Must have completed at least one full year of study at the time of application; • Must have not yet graduated; • Must be in good academic standing within their majors and overall at their university; • Must be enrolled in school the fall season following the potential internship or co-op assignment. • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications • Prefer a candidate who is entering their Senior year • Candidate who has successfully completed a class in Lean.
