Job Description
The Supplier Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining processes designed for evaluation and control of AMRI's supply base. This includes maintenance of processes that provide feedback, evaluation, and performance tracking of suppliers. This person will also be responsible for creation and revision of suppliers in the Oracle ERP system. Lastly, the Supplier Management Specialist will assist Sourcing Department leadership in the constant review of process effectiveness, and will help promote ways to further improve process efficiencies to optimize supplier performance.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be king knowledge in the purchasing field including a clear understanding of the purchase requisition policies and processes from origination of the document, familiarity of proper document authorizations, all the way through the receipt and payment process.
1. Assist in the formulation and maintenance of a supplier qualification process, taking into consideration factors including supplier financial viability and presence of an effective quality system.
2. Assist in the management of a Supplier Report Card system designed to provide periodic feedback to suppliers on their overall level of performance.
3. Maintain a Request for Corrective Action process designed to hold suppliers accountable for root cause determination and effective corrective action implementation for issues directly affecting AMRI's ability to satisfy customer demands, including the tracking and monitoring of associated metrics.
4. Maintain a Supplier Audit Program designed to visit major suppliers on-site on a periodic basis to ensure effective quality practices and policies are followed and implemented.
5. Maintain any additional processes designed to further enhance ability of suppliers to perform in accordance with AMRI expectations and requirements.
6. Provide periodic training to personnel and end-users on supplier quality fundamentals.
7. Maintain supplier information contained in Oracle ERP system.
8. Implement methods and assist in projects to increase the quality of products, services or to implement more efficient procedures.

Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* At least 2 years experience in a Manufacturing/R &D purchasing environment.
* Exposure to industrial and organizations quality processes preferred.
