Job Summary: The Staff RN Educator is a practitioner and educator. As a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients according to Froedtert Hospital's professional practice model. Staffing in the Cardiac Catheterization lab 50%, including call for off hour emergent/urgent cases. This individual demonstrates increasing competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. As an Educator, collaborates with the Educational Services, participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of orientation, continuing education relevant to Cardiac Catheterization lab Staff, regulatory compliance, patient and family education. Maintains unit specific standard of practice based on current literature, and best practices. The Staff RN Educator is available for all both campuses (Froedtert Hospital AND Community Memorial Hospital), based on unit educational needs. Other duties as assigned.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of Cardiac Catheterization Lab is necessary to effectively assess staff members' educational needs, design programs, to meet identified needs and to oversee instruction for staff members.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Professional knowledge of nursing theory, educational theories, and principles to assist in the process of providing education to a professional staff.
Licensure: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
