JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for researching and answering employee questions regarding various benefit plans, preparing and reconciling monthly billing statements, reviewing and evaluating requests for tuition reimbursement, auditing reports from the benefit enrollment system, and identifying and recommending actions to increase employee participation in and understanding of employee benefit programs; updating materials and websites and providing on-going education of benefit programs and plans; and providing customer responses through mail, fax, email, or telephone in order to resolve issues in a timely, cost-effective, and “best in class” manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Research and answer employee questions pertaining to employee benefit plans, acting as a liaison with benefit vendors when necessary. 2. Prepare and reconcile monthly billing statements for benefit plans and update associated reports. Update system information for financial and vendor details ensuring accurate information is presented to Management. 3. Review and evaluate requests for tuition reimbursement and process payment requests. Participate in planning and organizing college related events. 4. Audit reports from the benefit systems, including family status changes, over-age reports, and follow-up on required documentation in making corrections to the system(s) as required. Coordinate activities with service providers as applicable. 5. Identify and recommend actions to increase employee participation in and understanding of employee benefit programs. 6. Update benefit materials, bulletin boards, and other related written and posted materials; perform additional education of benefits and discounts to employees through new employee orientations, individual communication, and other general orientation processes; update websites for discounts and benefits related materials. 7. Process enrollments, alterations and terminations to welfare plans, update employee records, and notify insurance carriers via the on-line computer system. 8. Process court orders, social security checks, and other government agency requests, documents, and verifications as applicable. 9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Skill • Knowledge of regulations pertaining to the administration of group health, COBRA, and section 125 plans. • Skill and proficiency in the use of computer software programs including word processing, spreadsheet, and HRIS database systems. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as required in dealing with employee benefit inquiries. • Knowledge of accounting and group benefit programs. • Strong organizational skills. • Ability to pay close attention to detail. • Knowledge of human resources practices and procedures. • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
Required Education/Experience • Associate’s Degree or the equivalent. • At least three years of Human Resources or administrative experience.
