Senior Engineer--Windows Consultant
We are searching for a Senior Engineer with extensive experience implementing and supporting Windows-based servers in an enterprise environment. Our client is an industry leading Fortune 500 IT Services firm that specializes in designing and managing complex application environments for large commercial and government enterprises. This individual will join a staff of expert engineers and architects who have responsibility for consulting with clients and designing solutions to maximize the uptime and performance of business critical systems.
The Senior Engineer will work directly with clients and colleagues and must have strong communication and presentation skills. At times travel to client sites may be substantial, up to 50-75%, and candidates should be accustomed to working with virtual and/or distributed teams.
Technical skills required include:
several years hands-on work configuring/supporting/troubleshooting Windows Server OS’s
specific OS experience desired: 32-bit and 64-bit Win 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2
specific server platform experience desired: blade and rack-mounted servers from HP, IBM, Dell, Cisco
experience with VMWare vSphere
exposure to automation technologies for server deployment and application management
detailed work with Active Directory, Group Policy, WINS, DNS, DHCP, IIS
some knowledge of storage, replication, load balancing, security and networking technologies
Our client does NOT do application development; instead they provide infrastructure consulting and managed services for large enterprise environments. Typical client engagements involve a significant focus on platform virtualization and migration; the Senior Engineer will provide subject matter expertise on Windows servers and applications.
This is a permanent position that offers a base salary between $100-115K (depending on experience) plus a 20% bonus (paid quarterly), 401K matching, paid vacations, medical/dental/life insurance, tuition reimbursement and a wide range of other benefits.
