Overview:
Under direction of the Director, Human Resouces and guidance from corporate Learning and Development, provide Human Resources leadership and support for the Region.
Key Accountabilities:
Learning and Development
Assess, recommend and deliver development needs for executive and hourly talent in the areas of
Executive Development
Seasonal Build Readiness
Supervisor Development
Cross-training of executives and associates between functional work areas
EDP Program for successful acclimation and placement (Goodyear and Secaucus only)
Collaborate with HR Director and Facility VP to determine facility-specific, team-specific and individual development needs. Support identified needs with formal training and/or other developmental activities, with assistance from Central L&D.
Review individual development needs with Central HR and Central L&D to ensure alignment with LPR discussions
Supervise Training Specialists (if in locations)
Responsible for quality execution and results of orientation and onboarding:
New executives includes external hires, promotions and transfers
Develop Onboarding needs based on position and new executive
Identify Peer Sponsor
Meet with Peer Sponsor to set expectations
Follow up with new executive and their supervisor weekly to ensure success of Onboarding
Support hourly orientation and position acclimation
Active Process Management Team member as assigned
Provide HR presence
Owner of User Guides and Quick Tips
Support job specific/systems training
Maintain L&D administration
Workforce Planning
Develop specific workforce staffing and scheduling plans for hourly Associates - both seasonal and regular - in partnership with Facility VPs, Directors of Finance and Controls and Regional HR Directors
Communicate recruiting needs to Facility HR Manager to hire against key success competencies for functional areas
Direct tracking of re-deployment of staff based on volume, process flow, facility trends and employment status with Facility HR Managers
Support other L&D initiatives as directed by Central L&D.
Support other HR initiatives as directed by HR Director and/or Central HR.
Skills Summary:
Strong written communication skills - technical writing experience preferred
Strong verbal communication skills - must have facilitation/presentation experience and ability to communicate at all organizational levels
Familiarity with all facets of logistics functions
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point.
Proficiency or ability to learn quickly, Macy's systems and software applications: PeopleSoft, InSite, Kronos, LotusNotes, Lotus Calendar, Macy's Portal, Centra, etc.
Six Sigma/Process Management knowledge and methodology
Works well in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities and organize workload effectively
Takes initiative to work independently and collaborate as part of teams
Frequent travel
