Red Hat Linux Systems Administrator
Where Technology and Teamwork come together... Northrop Grumman IT Solutions is seeking a System Administrator 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Data Center Services group providing System Administration services for programs located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- System Administration in an Dell Server High Performance Cluster (HPC) environment consisting of approximately 500 nodes.
- Install, configure, and rack-mount systems.
- Install, configure, and patch Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x, 5.x, 6.x systems.
- Creating and maintaining user and computer accounts as well as modifying file permissions and security access lists.
- Test new release levels of existing products to insure compatibility and minimize user impact.
- Perform problem diagnosis on hardware, operating system, and/or applications.
- Perform hardware and peripheral installations as required and troubleshoot problems.
- Manage file systems and disk space.
- Sanitize information systems and process for removal.
Basic Qualifications: • 10 Years with a B.S. Degree. 8 years with a M.S. Degree or 14 Years overall IT Experience.
• 5 Years Linux Administration. 9 Years without a degree.
• Position requires a current DOD Secret Clearance, SCI clearance preferred.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• Must have good organizational and communication skills.
• Must be willing to have a flexible schedule as some off-normal hours work is required.
• Able to manage small projects.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.
• Occasional travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications: - CompTIA Security Certification
- SANS GCUX (Securing Linux/Unix) Certification
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator Certification
- SCI Clearance
