Payroll Administrator

Description: Our client is currently seeking an Accounting/Payroll Administrator. This position will spend 50% of the time preparing accounts receivable (invoices), reviewing/checking employee expense sheets and timesheets, and payroll for processing; 30% assisting with HR filing, personnel reports, and benefits administration; and 20% general administration & project support. Main Responsibilities: ? Acts as an advocate for the business process improvement - developing, implementing and documenting necessary policies and procedures ? Interacts professionally with staff and senior management (custom reporting, budget monitoring) ? Knowledgeable and able to accurately and confidentially maintain payroll records, approved timesheets, labor distribution posting/utilization reports, payroll transmission, distribution of paychecks, and employee expenses/reimbursements ? Monitors the timely submission of timesheets for all employees ? Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy and computes pay according to federal laws and corporate policy ? Inputs the new hires, terminations, transfer and salary adjustments ? Verifies all payroll deductions for group health, life and disability insurance premiums, including voluntary dedications ? Updates PTO accruals semi-monthly ? Compiles and forwards data to ensure taxing authorities' filings and payroll reporting are filled accurately and timely ? Reviews contracts to understand invoice set-up requirements of the Client, and Project Managers. ? May assist in setting up projects in accounting system for employee/charging, revenue recognition, and billing requirements. ? May update accounting system for modifications ? Prepares draft and final monthly invoices ? Responsible for A/R on assigned projects. ? Ensures all job cost transactions are properly recorded. ? Investigates and analyzes variances and processes ? Conducts special projects and administrative support as needed. Requirements: A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills: Extensive experience in financial practices and operations, billing, budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable and receivables, payroll, vendor and client relations. Possesses a professional commitment to meet deadlines with a positive attitude. ? BS in Bus Admin (in related field) or equivalent with 3 or more years of Payroll and Accounting experience ? Must have Deltek FMS experience ? Experience with government contracting ? Commitment to demonstrate and maintain confidentiality ? Ability to meet deadlines ? Attention to detail and excellent organization skills ? Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a group ? Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and third party HR resources ? Highly motivated, problem-solving, multi-tasking individual who works well in a periodically fast paced dynamic environment is essential. ? Proficient in all MS Office products. ? Minimum of 3 substantive employment references performing similar work. Location: Redding, CA Compensation: $18-20/hr DOE, Full time mon-fri, temp to hire Principals only.
