Operations Specialist (Entry-level)

This is an entry-level position which ensures that customer billing and payment transactions are correctly entered and audited.  Communicates with internal and external customers to resolve billing and payment issues.  Understands and follows current processes and identifies process improvements to ensure financial transactions are accurate and appropriate.


  • Perform a variety of transactions related to customer accounts and automated systems at the expected level of productivity and quality identified for each area within the department  
    • Types of transactions may include sales orders, sales disputes, external provider payments, refunds, bankruptcy related issues, payment adjustments, promotions, equipment, and account maintenance issues
  • Develop reports for senior management as needed
  • Conduct data compilation, special projects, audits and account research as needed
  • Must be able to learn and apply basic knowledge of the following commonly used applications as appropriate for the area within the department, which may include, but not limited to, billing systems, order entry systems and Microsoft Office
  • Escalate potential operational and system-related issues to department management
  • Requires and qualifies for weekend and overtime shifts as needed
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and fully understand processes and their impact on the overall business
  • Develop, maintain and update procedural documents
  • Assist in training and mentoring of team members within area of the department as well as cross-training other employees from different areas within the department
  • Comply with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensuring honest and ethical conduct at all times while maintaining a positive attitude

Bachelors degree or relevant courses or relevant experience

  • Degree in business, operations, computer science or IT highly preferred
  • 1-2 years work experience desired
