Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer 1
Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers. Performs limited detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations. Supports team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems. Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems. Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Works under close supervision.

• Computer Aided Design Tools
Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).

Basic knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).
• Engineering Processes
Basic knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Basic knowledge of the interaction between departments/ disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is required for this position. Ability to design, specify, & evaluate ECS architectures for adherence to company, customer, & regulatory requirements. The candidate must also have the ability to translate functional requirements into designs/specifications and ultimately into fielded systems. Must be highly motivated, self-starting and comfortable dealing with diverse people and disciplines. **Must include GPA to be considered.
