Our client, a global software development company headquartered in New York City, provides innovative clinical development solutions that safely and efficiently improve quality of life through advanced technology, data-driven metrics and platform interoperability. The company offers products and services that help biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and other life sciences companies conduct clinical trials and related research. Its products include hosted software for administering and managing clinical trials, electronic data capture applications, study management applications, and patient diaries. The company also offers a variety of professional services, such as consulting, implementation, integration, maintenance, support, and training. Its vast customer list includes Amgen, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson. They operate in a fast-paced, result-oriented, entrepreneurial culture.
Position Summary
The Manager, Talent Acquisition will develop and implement the strategies and tactics necessary for the company to effectively identify and recruit the skill sets and talent required to sustain its growth and success. Working across all the departments to manage the organization’s overall recruitment strategy, the Manager, Talent Acquisition will oversee the seamless administration of all recruitment-related activities and processes, and ensure the competitiveness and legal compliance of the client’s overall talent acquisition practices.
Reports to: Director, HR Operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Creatively and proactively utilize the internet, social media, job boards, industry-specific media, networking and college relations for effective recruiting solutions and programs
o Provide day-to-day management of the Recruitment team, including coaching, ensuring and measuring efficiency and effectiveness, and prioritizing work
o Partner with other HR staff (Operations, Compensation, Organizational Development) as necessary
o Partner closely with hiring managers globally to ensure that staffing needs are understood and effectively met
o Work with the Marketing department to create effective recruitment and employment branding campaigns
o Improve time-to-hire and cost-per-hire
o Become a super-user of the HCMS (Human Capital Management System),to report regularly on vacancy rates, vacancy aging, time-to-fill and cost-per-hire, and maintain accurate applicant tracking data for EEO/AAP reporting
o Continuously improve processes and procedures to make the talent acquisition process as seamless and simple as possible for end-users
o Draw on expertise and experience to optimize, diversify and target recruiting sources
o Provide hands-on recruitment assistance as well as active sourcing when required
o Help determine and manage the recruitment budget
o Create specific talent acquisition programs designed to:
- Expand efforts to maintain the diversity of the client’s workforce at all levels
- Build relationships with colleges and universities globally to expand the client’s employment brand and create a repeatable source of qualified entry-level candidates
o Maintain and manage the Employee Referral and Hot Jobs programs
- Other projects and responsibilities as required
Qualifications Required
- Experience managing a talent acquisition function for a technology and/or healthcare IT-focused organization required; experience managing in a SaaS environment and/for a healthcare IT environment preferred
- 5+ years of direct talent acquisition experience
- Direct experience with sourcing, interviewing and selecting candidates
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with HR technology and strong experience with Applicant Tracking Systems
- Undergraduate degree in finance, HRM, or related field preferred
