Manager, Marketing Musician's Friend
The Marketing Manager, MF creates measures, analyzes and optimizes online and catalog marketing programs, and manages internal partners and external agencies to achieve marketing goals. The Marketing Manager, MF will collaborate with Merchandising, Creative Services, Sales and other functions to create and deploy highly effective marketing programs, including email campaigns, catalog campaigns, social media, co-marketing opportunities, online advertising, SEM, trade shows and more. This position is both creative and analytical in nature. To be successful, you will have very strong written and verbal communication skills and a passion for innovative marketing and customer success. In this position, you will play a key role in identifying, developing and implementing awareness and acquisition strategies to directly impact the critical business metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute and manage marketing and circulation strategies that maximize promotional campaigns to drive sales, including PPC Advertising, online advertising, social media, internal site campaigns, and circulation campaigns; continually test, analyze and optimize targeting, content, landing pages and more to increase open rates, click thru rates, and other key marketing metrics.
• Report on Internet marketing and catalog performance using the internal data warehouse and third-party analytics software.
• Manage supplier relationships by guiding the execution of brand-focused marketing programming.
• Work closely with the merchandising organization to understand assortment strategy, sales trends and future opportunities.
• Help develop the marketing strategy, competitive positioning and tactics to drive market share growth.
• Responsible for all internal project management or vendor management if applicable, price negotiations, project timelines, review schedules, and obtaining budget and content approvals.
• Support key seasonal campaigns, brand launches and growth initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
• 1-3 years product marketing, retail, consulting and/or agency experience.
• Brand marketing experience required.
• Knowledge of basic marketing strategy and general marketing promotion techniques.
• Analytical & quantitative skills.
• Demonstrated team/collaborative skills.
• Online and direct marketing experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint user.
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and a sense of urgency.
• This position requires excellent communication and relationship skills.
• Well developed ability to multi-task and prioritize with strong attention to details.
