Manager, Human Resources

Overview:

The Manager, Human Resources coordinates and manages Human Resources processes, programs and related activities for the employees of this company. As a member of the Senior Management team, this role partners with the various departments to implement strategic HR initiatives that support the culture, the team, the strategic goals and the organization’s values. The Manager, Human Resources reports to the Director, Human Resources and works closely with operations and plant management on a day to day basis and provides support to all functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Through collaboration and the building of relationships, provide support and consultative services to managers and employees on issues around human resources practices, policy, legislation, employee relations, and other related areas
• Provide people management coaching to managers and contribute to the development of managers’ skills
• Support and direct recruitment processes, attracting and identifying talent, assisting with the development of the recruitment strategy, screening, interviewing and selection
• Provide managers and employees with guidance and coaching around performance management and assist in the consistent implementation of the performance management tool, and develop and conduct training
• Contribute to the development of compensation programs which support growth and change within the organization
• Building on current Health & Safety programs and policies, ensure consistency, compliance and engagement, including developing training plans and ensuring their delivery.
• Support the organization’s training initiatives where appropriate
• Support change management initiatives, development of roles & responsibilities and organization design
• Develop and maintain the HRIS



Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills:

• University degree; major in Human Resources Management is preferred
• CHRP designation preferred
• 3 to 5 years as a Human Resources Generalist; positions of increasing responsibility;
• Mix of business and human resources experience is an asset
• A self starter with a high degree of initiative and integrity
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills
• Experience working within a manufacturing organization either unionized or non would be preferred
• A proven ability to build and develop work relationships of trust at all levels, with all disciplines within the organization
• Strong organizational skills;
• A strategic thinker with strong conceptual abilities
• Strong understanding and application of Ontario Employment Standards, Human Rights Codes, and WSIB
