Human Resources Manager Comcast National Engineering and Technical Operations (NE&TO) TITLE: Manager, Human Resources SAP TITLE: Manager, Human Resources FLSA: Exempt LOCATION:Denver, CO REPORTS TO:Director, Human Resources As a Human Resources Manager in a Business Partner role, supporting the Comcast National Engineering and Technical Operations (NE&TO) organization, the successful candidate will build effective partnerships with all levels of management to help drive the business toward establishing and maintaining a culture of growth and excellence and support the organization as it strives to deliver against its business, product and people strategies. This role focuses on coaching leaders and their teams, identifying business challenges, and designing and implementing related improvement opportunities in the organization. The Human Resources Manager will consult and advise management and employees on a wide range of HR solutions including employee relations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, performance management, compensation, staffing, and employee and leadership development. Major Duties: * CONSULTING - Supports assigned business unit management by providing excellence in human resources consulting to contribute to the achievement of strategic and tactical goals and objectives of NE&TO. * HR PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION - Partners with line management and HR team in the successful implementation and ongoing administration of key enterprise-wide Human Resources programs (e.g. base salary administration, total compensation, stock awards, performance management, benefits, human resources management system, etc.) * TALENT ALIGNMENT - Assesses the need for talent in relation to business changes, including the need for specific competencies, knowledge or skills, and partners with the Recruiting organization to ensure the best talent pool is available to achieve short and long-term business goals and objectives. * COACHING - Provides coaching and feedback on how to improve individual and organizational performance to meet strategic and tactical goals and objectives. * CONSULTING ON HR ISSUES - Acts as consultant to employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues and recommends and implements effective solutions for resolution. * CONFLICT RESOLUTION - Assists managers and staff in resolving complex personnel problems adhering to HR confidentiality standards. * LEADERSHIP AND EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS - Working in partnership with the Learning and Development team, identifies specific program needs relating to leadership and employee development. * MEETINGS - Attends meetings conducted by the management team of the assigned business unit. * KNOW INTERNAL CUSTOMER - Gathers employment related information on business strategy, products, services, staff, organizational structure, processes and culture specific to the business units supported, in order to be a more effective business partner and to be able to articulate the strategy and direction of the business units supported and the impact of related units. * EDUCATE INTERNAL CUSTOMER - Ensures assigned business unit partners have up-to-date knowledge on corporate and business unit employee relations, training & development, talent acquisition, and talent performance management guidance and processes. * HR INITIATIVES SUPPORTING BUSINESS GOALS - Develops a thorough understanding of the business unit?s needs and future direction in order to communicate HR implications to the business unit management team. Takes these HR implications to the appropriate personnel and collaborates with other HR staff in order to proactively develop and implement HR initiatives that will assist the business unit in its achievement of its objectives/goals. * LOCAL TRAVEL - Travels to local area work sites within the assigned business unit on a regular basis to meet with the managers and staff. * SKILLS ASSESSMENT - Determines the skill sets and developmental needs of the employees, the strengths/weaknesses of the group, communication styles, working relationships, and organizational structure. * HR PROJECTS - Manages HR related projects in areas relating to compensation, rewards & recognition, organizational development. * ATTENDANCE - Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. * LOCATION - The position will be located in Mt Laurel, NJ and Center City, Philadelphia.
Minimum Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience: * Minimum 2-4 years related Human Resources experience, including supervisory experience * Previous experience with multi-site organizations preferred * Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills including proven ability to present to all levels of staff * Demonstrated communication, leadership, change management and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to lead by influence rather than by title * Demonstrated project management, organizational, and follow through skills, including management of HR projects * Demonstrated self-starter operating with a high sense of urgency, identifying and acting on priorities and responding to challenges with a solution-based mindset * Knowledge of current and evolving HR federal and state laws and regulations * Experience with a diverse employee population * Ability to build formal and informal relationships with business partners and influence management on HR matters * Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Experience with MS Access or Project a plus * Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment, set priorities, manage projects efficiently/effectively, draw on team members? abilities, and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure * Commitment to gaining insight into internal customer needs, providing quality service to them while aligning priorities with business strategy * Ability to manage conflicts to resolution * Ability to adapt in response to changing business needs * Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, responsive and flexible * Participation in an external HR organization is desired * Ability to travel 10%. Education: * Bachelors Degree in related field, or equivalent education/experience
