Manager, Corporate Wellness and Disability Programs
The Manager of Corporate Wellness and Disability Programs is responsible for the strategic management of approximately $150 million spend in annual disability and workers' compensation in the U.S. and Canada. Create and manage programs focused on reducing disability cost through prevention, medical and administrative claim management, and return-to-work initiatives. Manage and oversee disability carriers, physicians, consultants and legal firms and develop. Implement strategies to reduce program costs. Manage a staff ofthree direct reports and oversee a purchase service group. Oversee all operations at the Corporate Headquarters Fitness Center. This person is also responsible for wellness and health promotion programs in the U.S. and Canada including oversight of four vendors, budget development and management, program design and delivery, as well as program analysis and strategic alignment with corporate health care goals.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3 years of Human Resources and/or medical services experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Multi-state workers compensation law for occupational disability claims experience
• Multi-state self insurance requirements experience
• Experience with contractual agreements and requirements for non-occupational short term and long term bargaining unit disability plans
• Knowledge of state, federal and ERISA requirements for long term disability plans
• Knowledge of plan requirements for salaried non-represented employees
• Knowledge of HR/ER, FMLA, EEOC policies, requirements and processes
• Knowledge of insured disability program contractual and government requirements
• Understanding of disability insurance industry and guidelines
• Preventative health and wellness industry standards for a corporate wellness program experience
• Understanding of the stages of behavioral change and the support necessary at each stage
• Contractual agreements and requirements for wellness program experience
• Understanding of health care cost drivers to develop effective programs to decrease overall costs
• Effective communication methods to promote preventive health measures
