Legal Recruiting Manager

Our client, one of the largest legal service providers in the world is seeking a Legal Recruiting Manager to be responsible for all aspects of legal recruiting across multiple offices, including summer associates, law clerks, fall associates, lateral hires, LLMs, staff attorneys, contract attorneys, and economists in coordination with the Recruiting Director, Hiring Partner, Office Manager Partner and Practice Group Leaders, and in concert with the strategic growth plans for the Firm.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with approved legal search firms.
  • Screen all resumes and respond to all candidates and recommend candidates to practice group leaders and hiring partners.
  • Coordinate with the National Partner Recruiting Manager on any partner level searches
  • Schedule and meet all candidates during interview process.
  • Actively and creatively source candidates through job postings, advertising, networking, use of career services, search firms, and referrals.
  • Act as host for 6-10 law schools and job fairs during OCI.
  • Prepare all materials for on-campus interviews.
  • Pre-screen all OCI and unsolicited resume submissions.
  • Coordinate attorney on-campus interview assignments.
  • Coordinate all call-back invitations and schedule call-back interviews, collect evaluations and prepare materials for weekly Hiring Committee meetings.
  • Act as liaison to all candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Track all submissions in LawCruit and maintain job files and resumes according to legal recruiting procedures.
  • Oversee processing of all candidates' due diligence.
  • Draft correspondence related to legal hires; moving, bar exam and other expenses/disbursements.
  • Work closely with responsible partner regarding extension of offers, follow-up, and office set-up and integration upon arrival.
  • Plan social events and training activities for the Summer Associate program.
  • Develop and coordinate summer associate orientation.
  • Monitor summer associate work flow and track evaluations of work products.
  • Provide maximum support to summer associates to ensure success of each summer associate.
  • Participate in mid and end of summer reviews.
  • Supervise and assist in preparation of offer decision meeting held by Summer Associate Hiring Committee.
  • Maintain recruiting budget and approve all disbursements for related expenses.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5-6 years of professional recruiting experience. Recruiting experience within a law firm or legal services environment is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while being detail-oriented
  • Able to treat confidential information in a professional manner,
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and tactfully;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage projects.
  • Candidates must have a detailed knowledge of NALP Principles & Standards, LawCruit tracking and reporting systems and other related technologies, including but not limited to MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of US Visa process and requirements, employment standards and wage and hour laws is required.

Travel between offices on an as needed basis is required
