INVISTA's Victoria TX Plant is a well-established, world class manufacturing facility, providing chemical intermediate chemical for a variety of applications.
The Victoria area is a strong, growing community situated 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico on the Mid-Texas Gulf Coast and serves as a regional hub for more than 185,000 citizens. It offers a uniquely equidistant position between the major Texas cities of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide day to day interface with managers, first line supervisors and employees to assist and resolve employee relations opportunities. • Plan, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to payroll and human resource records management adhering to record retention guidelines. • Analyze compensation trends both local and national, compile data and make wage proposals to management. • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems. • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits. • Assist in updating and implementing various site Human Resource guidelines, policies and procedures. • Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. • Conduct exit interviews; analyze data and makes recommendations to the management team for continuous improvement. • Assist site leadership in performance management by compiling employee performance information, analyzing performance trends and implementing performance strategies that focus on value creation and best economic alternative. • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
WE ARE SEEKING CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES: • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization. • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines. • Must be able to research and analyze various types of information and maintain confidentiality within all areas of HR. • Work with minimal supervision and as part of a team. • Ability to produce accurate, high quality work in a time-sensitive fast paced environment.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related degree. • 3+ years human resources experience in an exempt role. • Experience researching and analyzing various types of information such as compensation data. • Excellent computer skills required in MS Word: Drafting letters and creating tables, Excel: Creating & updating spreadsheets; and PowerPoint: Creating and updating presentations. • To be considered for Employment in this position you must be authorized to work in the United States. • Must be able to meet the (TWIC) Transportation Worker Identification Credential eligibility requirements.
PREFERENCES: • Experience working with SAP and Kronos timekeeping software. • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (with preference with Taleo). • Background in recruiting, employee relations and HR compliance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS (with or without reasonable accomodation): • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. • Occasionally required to work in chemical-protected clothing and equipment. • Occasionally required to climb stairs and ladders. • Frequently required to work overtime as required by the business.
