Human Resources Leader

Our client, an international manufacturer, with a great story to tell, seeks a dynamic Plant Human Resources Manager to oversee all aspects of Human Resources for a growing plant operation that has both union and non-union employees.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provides strategic and tactical human resources generalist support and direction.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with union representatives to build and maintain good relations.
  • Handles recruiting, training & orientation, policy development, legal and government compliance reporting and all aspects of Human Resources.
  • Implements annual updates for performance management, talent and succession planning, compensation and employee relations.
  • Oversees Safety, Workers Compensation, Benefits and Environment, and payroll.
  • Facilitates leadership and teams to improve communications and efficiencies.

 

Experience & Qualifications:



  • BS/BA in HR/Industrial Relations or related discipline. PHR or SPHR certifications preferred. MBA or MLRHR a plus.
  • 12+ years Human Resources managerial experience working in a union/non union, fast-paced industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational and problem solving skills and lean & six sigma concepts.
  • Labor, negotiations, grievance, arbitration, language drafting, costing and economic analysis, etc. experience; possibly 1st or 2nd chair experience.
  • A change leader, collaborative and able to maintain strong relations; Plant start up experience would be beneficial.
  • An enthusiastic change leader who builds trust and efficiencies. 
  • A good coach with an eye for talent.
  • Computer savvy—Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, Work Day; SAP experience a plus
