Job Description
POSITION INFORMATION:

Located in Mississauga, the Human Resources Generalist administers human resources policies and programs in the following functional areas:, employee orientation, performance appraisals, compensation, Health and Safety, Diversity Action Plans, training and development; employee relations, performance management, disability claims and other similar areas.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Is highly visible and is the employee's first point of contact for HR- related concerns.
· Proactively identifies and communicates employee issues that impact the territory's ability to meet business objectives.
· Assists line managers in developing skills to manage human resources more effectively through modeling, coaching, instruction and training.
· Provides ongoing feedback to HR Manager to assist in policy creation
· Participates in projects as assigned by the HR Manager
· Operates under the organization's Code of Ethics.
· Monitors workers' compensation claims and coordinates between the employee and insurance carrier.
· Rolls out all Ricoh-wide HR programs such as, Code of Ethics, Service Award Program, Employee Survey and other similar programs.
· Conducts/coordinates monthly employee orientations.
· Serve as a resource for legal and employment Equity Program issues; ensuring compliance with federal, provincial and local employment laws and providing representation for Ricoh external legal and government employment matters
· Assists line managers with performance appraisals; tracks due dates for the territory and reports on outstanding performance appraisals by manager.
· Responsible for Health and Safety initiatives for area of responsibility.
· Conducts/maintains exit interview database.
· Facilitates collaborative problem solving strategies to resolve employee relations issues through effective communication with all levels of employees. Displays genuine interest and respect for people and their concerns.
· Ensures proper and consistent salary administration throughout the territory through frequent analysis of salary increases. Reports increases that are appear to be outside of established guidelines and any possible wage and hour compliance issues.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred
· CHRP designation preferred

EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum of three years overall Human Resource experience.
· Two years experience at current Human Resource level.
· Must have a proven track record of human resource experience at a generalist level.
· Must have a proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers.
OTHER:
· Bilingual in French and English is preferred.
