Description Provides human resources generalist support to Gas Plant and Thermal employees, developing and implementing HR solutions which could include all aspects of HR – workforce planning/strategic staffing and retention, organizational development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, labor relations – with the objective of increasing employee, management, and organizational effectiveness. * Provide strategic and tactical human resources generalist support to management and employees. * Coach Managers and employees to improve performance. Actively manage performance issues to resolution. * Coordinate implementation and administration of HR programs and processes, including strategic staffing, performance and retention management, compensation, training and development, and employee/labor relations. * Develop workforce plans for recruiting and retention with client managers and implement plans. Analyze progress in achieving plan and make on-going adjustments. * Coordinate changes and administration of benefit policies and interpret complex employee benefit policies. * Analyze data to ensure compliance with laws/regulations and assess progress against company EEO/Affirmative Action goals. * Develop working relationship with union representatives bargaining unit employees and coordinate labor relations issues with Vice President of Human Resources for Generation Plants. Oversee and coordinate activities and projects of assigned HR staff. Coach and develop HR staff by assessing strengths and developmental needs, provide staff with challenging assignments and opportunities for development Location will be in the Californai area, specific location could change.
Position Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field; ten to fifteen years of generalist experience with exposure in the areas of strategic recruiting and staffing, AA/EEO/Diversity, employee relations, compensation, training and development, benefits, labor relations, in a fast-growing, dynamic organization. · Experience working in a union environment, working with union representatives and grievance procedure · Ability to work with all levels of the company, from plant personnel to senior management. · Broad and in-depth understanding of human resources policies and procedures. · Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. · Demonstrated ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources. · Excellent project management and organizational skills · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to work independently and as a team member. · Proficiency in working independently in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
