Human Resources Coordinator - Manufacturing - SW Michigan
Summit Polymers, a supplier of plastic injection molded interior trim to the automotive industry, currently has an opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator at Summit Plant 08 in Vicksburg, MI. Primary responsibilities may include any number of the following tasks: Screening, interviewing, and hiring of hourly personnel; development, maintenance and handling of confidential employee records and information; time clock record keeping; insurance benefits including unemployment and workers’ compensation; and administration of Summit’s rules and regulations and all safety requirements.
Summit is looking for a new grad who is looking for hands-on HR experience and career progression, or an experienced HR support person. This is an administrative position performing clerical duties reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager. Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, State Unemployment Laws, Lockout/Tagout, HazCom, and OSHA regulations is a big plus. Competent computer/word processing skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks are a must. Requirements:
This is a great opportunity for a new 4 year graduate with some acedemic knowledge of Human Resources to get hands-on experience, or an administrative support person with experience in manufacturing and HR. Must have the ability to deal effectively with people inside and outside of the company and maintain confidentiality. This person will need high energy to be able to meet the demands of the day. Automotive manufacturing has an inherent sense of urgency with unyielding schedules and quality requirements. Helping to manage the human capital in a timely and professional manner is an integral and important part of any operation.
