Human Resources Business Partner

In New York State, DeVry University operates as DeVry College of New York.

As a member of the Metro's Executive Leadership Team the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for leading all talent management, and development initiatives in support of the business strategy. The HRBP promotes, communicates and implements organizational-wide Human Resources initiatives and may assist in their development. The HRBP is directly responsible for the overall management, administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources Department in their Metro.

 

  • Aligns Human Resource Department goals and objectives to the business strategy.
  • Participates in the annual budgeting and forecasting process of headcounts and new positions.
  • Manages the Human Resource function and staff for the Metro.
  • Personally interviews senior management candidates, reviews their offers. Oversees the on boarding process.
  • Supports local management in implementing and executing the talent review, succession planning and talent development processes.
  • Manages the performance management process by facilitating the goal setting process and the calibration/performance management processes.
  • Maintains positive employee relations and manages the conflict resolution process.
  • Ensures the overall maintenance and data integrity of the information within the DeVry Commons and payroll for their employee population.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position.   • A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred
  • Certified to conduct leadership training initiatives.
  • Eight or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience and three or more years of supervisory experience required.
  • Solid experience in handling complex employee relations issues and in conducting investigations.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) required. Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification a plus.
