RIDGID® has aHuman-Centered Designerposition open in the New Product Development function. Primary responsibilities include: · Lead new product development teams to incorporate customer observations into product and software designs; · Participate in customer observation work in the field; · Respond to customer scenarios with proposed design concepts, renderings and solutions; · Create polished design proposals; · Guide evaluation, filtering, honing and selection of product and software designs; · Lead ease of use and brand standards reviews; · Document and maintain RIDGID visual brand language; · Participate in Emersonâ??s human-centered design network, training, materials, standards, applications and events. Job Requirements Candidates must have a Bachelorâ??s Degree from an accredited college or university. Additionally, ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications: · Academic focus in industrial design or related subject matter; · Minimum five years of product design or equivalent business experience. Experience designing hardware and software interfaces a plus; · Strong artistic and spatial skills; · Customer observation and interview skills; · Knowledge of materials and material-processes; · Mechanical aptitude; · Team-orientation.
