HR Generalist Territory (if applicable): Corporate Business Unit: Corporate encompasses the core operational support for all Land O'Lakes businesses. It includes Business Development Services, Corporate Market Strategy and Communications, Finance, Law, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Affairs. Position Purpose: The HR Representative, reporting to the HR Manager, will manage a series of functional areas in the HR Department, and have functional experience in at least half of these areas; Benefits administration, Compensation Administration, employee relations counseling, mediation, and investigation, labor relations, including grievance investigation, contract interpretation, and dispute mitigation procedures, wellness program generation and administration, recruiting and staffing, and training and development.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: LABOR RELATIONS/EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: * Ensure compliance with Labor Agreement * Advise all levels of management on Labor Agreement interpretation and concerns * Assist Company in Labor Agreement Negotiations * Notify Management, Union Reps, and Union Business Agents of upcoming Labor Management meetings along with prepared meeting agenda; take and post minutes * Conduct employee investigations and resolving production hourly concerns and issues and day to day resolution of issues * Assist management team with corrective action and creates disciplinary documents as necessary * Support and advice employees, supervisors and managers regarding employee relations issues * Coach supervisors and managers in managing employee performance * Establish and maintain supportive relationships with employees, supervisors and managers * Investigate and resolve grievances throughout various steps * Analyze data concerning trends in grievances
STAFFING: * Recruit, hire and onboard hourly and salaried positions * Analyze statistical data and trends on turnover and retention * Make recommendations to improve Company practices and analyze market trends
COMPLIANCE: * Assist and Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity in all employment practices * Assist in compliance in the area of EEO and AAP * Assist with FMLA, STD, ADAAA, Worker Comp
TURNOVER: * Aid in the attainment of goals for each fiscal year * Minimize the amount of turnover in the plant and communicate the numbers accurately to the team
DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING PROGRAMS: * Arrange and oversee training functions for employees and management * Promote employee activities * Support the performance management process IDP / PCP's Required (Basic) Experience & Education: 4 year degree in Human Resources or related field.
1+ years' business experience, with previous experience in an HR related field.
Strong in process orientation, project management, attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, managing multiple priorities; collecting, organizing and analyzing data. Required Competencies & Other Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects given short lead times, maintain accuracy, pay extreme attention to detail, work well under pressure/deadlines while demonstrating a positive rapport.
Must have ability to anticipate potential conflicts and/or problems and proactively respond to them.
Capacity for consistently meeting deadlines; must be action and results-oriented individual who is able to deal with ambiguity.
Excellent computer skills required: including Excel, Word, Power Point and Access database.
Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written.
Must be able to interact professionally and positively with employees at all levels in the plant.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects with constant interruptions.
Ability to work Monday through Friday during office hours but be able to cover off shift duties as needed.
Ability to relocate for future career opportunities required. Preferred Experience & Education: Master Degree in Human Resoruces or related field.
