Description
Position: HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST Status: Full-time, Exempt Reports to: VP, Human Resources COMPANY OVERVIEW: The first Sur La Table store opened in Seattle's Pike Place Market in 1972 selling hard-to-find kitchenware imported from France. POSITION OVERVIEW: Manage growth and support succession planning by providing high level staffing services to Sur La Table corporate office. Manage recruiting process and maintain excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates, and the community at-large. Work closely with HR VP on employee relations issues and retention. RESPONSIBILITES:(included but not limited to) * Coordinate HR generalist duties, including performance management, compensation, and recruiting for corporate office * Communicate, implement, and interpret HR policies and practices to ensure fair and consistent administration * Keep organizational charts and job description content current * Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law * Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed * Other duties as required REQUIREMENTS:(including, but not limited to) * Two to four years experience as a HR generalist; retail experience preferred * PHR/higher certificate or degree in Human Resources * Working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the HR profession * Excellent project management, writing, and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated ability to command the attention and respect of senior level leaders * Demonstrated ability to recruit for a broad/deep range of positions * Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications Sur La Table is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
