This position will require at least 10 years experience working with Human Resources issues and exposure to such typical HR disciplines as benefits, labor/employee relations, equal opportunity, workforce planning, organizational development, staffing, and compensation. Previous managerial experience.
Special Skills/Abilities Needed: Thorough understanding of employment law, and an excellent knowledge of company HR policy, objectives, strategy and goals, combined with strong interpersonal and consulting skills, including the ability to influence decision makers, such as the direct reports to the Segment President, and form strong partnerships and business relationships with clients. Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to diagnose HR needs the Business Units have not articulated and develop appropriate intervention to integrate into the Business Units long- range strategic planning. Thorough knowledge of organizational development, change management interventions and strategies. Candidate must possess expertise in initiating and managing change, and a strong sense of client/customer focus. Must have the ability to manage multiple large- scale projects with Segment or Human Resources wide strategic importance. Must be able to manage a remote team Superior interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to deal effectively with all levels of staff and management as well as organized labor groups. This position will be required to design and deliver presentations to audiences that vary from represented employees to senior management. Ability to shift priorities and effectively perform under pressure. The candidate must be able to travel to remote work locations and work extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines. Willingness to take strong positions, even if they are not popular. Outstanding analytical, negotiation and selling skills. Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to plan, implement, and maximize expenditure of funds while maintaining quality standards.
Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities: Strengthen management in their people leadership capabilities: Provide Human Resource expertise to management in all matters pertaining to optimizing the relationship with employees Provide guidance and serves as a management representative regarding all matters pertaining to disciplinary action, promotions, demotions, transfers, and separations for non-bargaining unit employees Effective implementation of Human Resource processes : Manage recruitment process to assure timely placement of qualified candidates. Manage annual Performance and Development Review process and Succession Planning programs Assure implementation and administration of compensation programs including annual bonus and merit increase programs Participate and facilitate corporate annual open enrollment programs and handles benefits administration Ensure adequate training resources are identified and available to meet employee development requirements Coordinate the creation of employee development plans Coordinate corporate HR offered training programs for management and employees Adherence to standards and policies to optimize the whole: Responsible for insuring compliance with Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA), Equal employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative Action planning and advising managers as required Ensure Human Resource standards, policies and procedures are adhered to by management in their day-to-day operations Communication and compliance with all company policies Improvement of quality: Evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices Review and recommend changes to corporate HR processes and programs Financial accountability Monitors and analyzes costs, prepares budget and recommends exceptions to budget
