HR Assistant I Requisition Number 1183 Human Resources Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree required One year experience in a HR environment Knowledge using Excel, Power Point, Access and HRIS Proficient using MS Word and MS Outlook Excellent written, verbal, and telephone skills Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks Ability maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Excellent team-playing skills Description: The HR Assistant I provides overall administrative support to all the functional areas within the department. Working with all HR managers and director, the position is charged with completing assigned administrative tasks that may vary depending on the needs and priorities of the department. These include but are not limited to: providing front desk coverage, creation and maintenance of employee files, processing all types of HR related forms and assuring proper approvals, answering questions from staff on the phone or via email, acting as a customer service representative for HR, providing logistical support to HR managers for HR programs, generating ad hoc and routine reports from the HRIS system, assisting with the development or creation of materials intended for current and new staff such as procedures or forms. The HR Assistant I provides support for all services related to HR programs. This includes but is not limited to, identifying appropriate APA policies which apply to requests for services, consulting with HR managers or the director to get the necessary information or determine the most efficient way to deliver the services requested, follow up on request to ensure that the customer's needs have been attended to, follow up on any paperwork needed to ensure that any personnel actions are executed using the appropriate protocol and process, and in compliance with policy. The HR Assistant I will be assigned to assist with special projects, examples include but are not limited to coordination of materials for employee orientations, employment verifications, representing the department with other groups within APA. Other duties as assigned, for example collecting data necessary for the administration of the HR budget, filing, copying, answering phones, sorting, ordering supplies.
