HIM Validator (Medical Coder)Assistant Director of Clinical Review Operations Medicaid Integrity Review Program
This individual will utilize his/her knowledge and expertise of the review program and coding guidelines to ensure that the assignment of coding/DRG is appropriate and consistent with ICD-9-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and AHA Coding Clinic regulations. This position will be located in Tampa, Florida
Qualifications: - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively to physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff. - Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills. - Technical knowledge of coding and DRG validation. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment. - Knowledge of Florida Medicaid fraud and abuse and/or program integrity preferred.
Education & Experience: - Licensed Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required. - A minimum of one (1) year of hospital experience in the abstracting and coding of inpatient medical records required.
