Grad Intern - Biostats
Amgen's Global Biostatical Sciences department in our Thousand Oaks (CA), South San Francisco (CA) and Seattle (WA) locations is looking for Graduate students interested in a 10 - 12 week internship
Interns will work closely with a senior-level statistician on topics related to the design and analysis of clinical trials and/or nonclinical research.
Amgen research and development uses science and innovation to dramatically improve people's lives in various therapeutic areas, including oncology, nephrology, bone metabolism, and inflammation.
At the conclusion of the internship program, interns will give a presentation summarizing their work.

Basic Qualifications • Candidate must be currently enrolled in PhD • Must be in at least their third year of training in a statistics, biostatistics, or mathematics/statistics program or have a master's degree in a mathematically or statistically related area and be in at least their first year of PhD training in a biostatistics, statistics, or mathematics/statistics program.
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: • Must be 18 years or older; • Must be a current full time student • Must have completed at least one full year of study; • Must have not yet graduated; • Must be in good academic standing within their majors and overall at their university; • Must be enrolled in school the fall season following the potential internship or co-op assignment. • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications • Proficiency in SAS or S-Plus on either a UNIX or NT platform
