Environmental Analysis and Review Specialist-Senior Preview Exam
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is seeking qualified individuals to help implement our Environmental Analysis Program. The Environmental Analysis and Review Specialist serves as a liaison for state and local transportation project reviews. We currently are filling three positions: one full-time in Wisconsin Rapids, one full-time in Green Bay, and one half-time in either Ashland or Spooner. This exam will also be used to fill future Environmental Analysis and Review Specialist-Senior vacancies as they occur over the next 12 months. Therefore, please apply now if you are interested in other Duties: This position coordinates and/or conducts environmental reviews for DOT-administered highway, airport, railroad, and harbor projects in the areas of planning, design, construction and maintenance in accordance with the DNR/DOT Cooperative Agreement. Duties include conducting field inspections before, during and after construction to ensure compliance with wetland mitigation, erosion control, and other aspects of the Cooperative Agreement; assisting DOT with planning, development, and monitoring of wetland mitigation sites; following up on all environmental deficiencies in DOT-administered transportation projects and pursuing environmentally sound solutions; assisting DOT in their planning efforts and corridor studies for new highways and highway expansion; and working with DOT to avoid critical environmental habitats and limit the effects of storm water impacts. The position also coordinates and/or conducts reviews of public transportation projects administered by local units of government (counties, townships and municipalities) and coordinates compliance with the Wisconsin Environmental Policy Act (WEPA) in assigned counties. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Biological and ecological principles as they relate to surface waters, wetlands, water quality, storm water, fish and wildlife habitat management, and forestry.

* Ability to analyze the environmental impacts of projects.
* Best management practices for construction projects.
* Engineering plan interpretation and comprehension.
* Techniques for effective communication and collaboration.
