Georgia-Pacific Consumer Operations in Zachary, Louisiana is seeking a talented HR professional to join our team. This is a 1,000 employee union location, and this position will report into the facility HR Leader.
The Employee Relations Manager will provide employee relations advice and consultation to managers and supervisors to ensure that EEO standards and best practices are maintained and/or improved; effectively manage the Attendance and Leave policies to fully comply with FMLA and ADA requirements, and Company policy and advise, counsel and provide assistance to supervisors in order to manage employee performance within the Market Based Management Framework, the Guiding Principles, and the HR Compliance Standard. This position will also manage the labor relations function for the facility. These responsibilities include managing the grievance, arbitration and negotiation processes; labor contract administration and interpretation; and manage effective union relationships.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's in Human Resources preferred
PHR or SPHR certification preferred
Basic Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience managing labor relations.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:
Candidates must possess full knowledge of legal standards in the areas of employee relations, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and Workers' Compensation.
Written and verbal communication skills must be at the advanced level.
Candidates must also have the ability to resolve conflicts, problem-solve and thoroughly investigate sensitive employee issues.
A moderate level of competency with MS tools is required.
