Reports to: Managing Partner, dotted line to reporting to National Managing Partner of Talent
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the local office Managing Partner (MP) and the National MP of Talent, the Director, Recruiting has primary responsibility for sourcing, pre-screening, and interviewing qualified professionals, with the ultimate goal of developing and maintaining a diversified pool of candidates (CFOs/Consultants) for the local (in some cases not local) market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guidance given: Work is performed without appreciable directions. Determines organizational objectives, interprets company policy and delegates assignments to subordinate managers involving multi-level organizations. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-time perspective for desired results
- Policy involvement: Establishes organizational policies for a major segment of the company. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to company policy.
Supervisory/Relationship:
- Generally accomplishes results through middle level managers. Determines and establishes organizational structure and supervisory relationships subject to top management approval.
- Provide training and mentorship to Recruiting Managers
Direct Work Involvement/Complexity:
- Responsible for the successful operation of multi-functional activities of significance to the organization. Rarely becomes involved in the complexities of day to day operational problems, is more concerned to see that overall strategic intent and performance standards are set and attained
- Develops a recruiting strategy that continually replenishes the candidate pipeline – interim and salaried (CFOs, Consultants) based on market conditions, the existing CFO / Consultant pool, and current and projected pipeline of engagements
- Develops and maintains qualified candidate pool via Internet postings and searches, social media, print advertisements, networking/referrals, special recruitment letters and mailings
- Reviews and tracks resumes, conducts phone screens, and schedules candidate interviews utilizing company sponsored recruiting technologies
- Conducts in depth technical and behavioral interviews in order to assess skill sets and competencies of candidates. Documents candidates’ interviews and leads hiring process, including communicating with candidates, checking candidates’ references and submitting all required paperwork for background processing
- Acts as Consultant / CFO Advocate through relationship building with Consultants / CFO in the market; communicating with them regularly and representing them in all local office staffing meetings. The Recruiting Advocate seeks to reduce Consultant / CFO unassigned time, ensure smooth transitions from one project to another, and overall long term retention
- Presents recruiting and CFO / Consultant development at weekly team meetings
- Participates in business development discussions and recommends and initiates new recruiting strategies based on information obtained from meeting
- Participates in business development activities as needed
Impact:
- Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to major objectives of the organization and would seriously affect the financial, associate, or public relations posture of the company
Liaison:
- Represents the organizational unit as prime internal or customer contact or contract or operations. Conducts briefings and technical meeting for top management and customer representatives. Interacts with equivalent level inter-organizational managers concerning matters of significance to the company.
- Partners with MP and Client Service Partners in all project staffing activities including determining CFO / Consultant “matches” for open client engagements
- Represents the Firm in professional and community organizations
- Works with other Recruiting Directors across the Firm to ensure consistency and best practice sharing
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required
Additional degree in related field preferred
EXPERIENCE:
8+ years of relevant recruiting experience plus industry experience required
Strong professional recruiting network in the local office area
Financial/accounting background preferred
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate via the phone and in person
- Ability to negotiate and influence others
- Experience presenting to C-level executives
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex accounts or projects
- Experience describing and documenting project or client requirements
- Strong customer focus and customer service skills
- Ability to assess technical and soft skills
