Description:
Shutterstock is seeking a Director, Public Relations to direct its global public relations activities.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute global PR plans to help drive the business, promote the brand, and provide positive exposure, in line with the company goals and objectives
Maintain pulse on industry, including monitoring all industry press, and provide regular updates/briefings on news and trends to management team
Oversee communication strategies to all audiences, including press, customers, contributors, and employees
Select and manage external Public Relations agencies to assist in planning and execution, and to optimize PR opportunities, including general news articles and publicity events
Develop and maintain close relationships with industry peers and appropriate press contacts
Oversee all outbound press releases, corporate communications, and publicity for company, including product announcements and events
Point of contact for all media queries
Arrange and prepare for media interviews, for CEO and other company executives
Provide all media (newspapers, cable TV, radio, web sites, etc.) with notice of upcoming productions and newsworthy events
Partner with Marketing team to produce and execute publicity events
Develop and execute corporate social responsibility initiatives
Requirements:
7+ years experience in public relations including management of external agencies and executing PR plans
Thorough understanding of public relations/ media landscape and outlets within technology and design fields
Exceptional communication skills including written, verbal and presentation
Proactive, sound judgment and decision making abilities
Analytical, problem solving skills
Proven ability to partner with internal management team
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Public Affairs, Journalism, Media or Business preferred
Advance degree is a plus
Experience working in a start-up, entrepreneurial environment is a plus
