Responsibilities:

American Express is seeking a senior regional leader who has the necessary background and experience to lead the recruitment function across Europe and also help us to implement our transformation into a world class recruitment organisation.

Reporting to the VP - International Recruitment & Transformation Delivery, the Director of Recruitment - Europe will be responsible for designing implementing and leading regional specific recruitment strategy and activities. The successful candidate will lead the various in country recruiting teams across Europe and partner with the most senior regional HR and line of business leaders to deliver high quality recruitment solutions to business critical talent acquisition needs.

In addition, the successful candidate will need to establish close relationships with our chosen strategic Recruitment Process Outsource (RPO) partners to deliver a world class point of arrival recruitment organisation capability for Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist and advise senior regional HR and line of business management on all significant staffing, sourcing and recruiting initiatives.
Collaborate with regional HR, Line of Business Hiring Leaders and RPO partners to develop and deliver specific recruiting campaigns and monitor progress on a regular basis.
Collaborate across the organisation to drive the change efforts required to successfully transition to a new recruitment structure and delivery model across Europe.
Identify all training interventions and coaching opportunities required to support transition efforts and ensure continuous improvement for ongoing recruitment service delivery.
Ensure all recruiting goals, strategies and resourcing approaches further American Express' diversity strategy on a country by country and cross regional level.
Maintain up to date knowledge of recruiting issues and trends, regional labour laws and legislative initiatives that have short and long term implications on the profitability of the business.
Manage the regional relationship with approved third party vendors and suppliers and ensure vendor performance metrics are appropriate and monitored.
Take responsibility for the results of all staffing objectives within the region by working with RPO partners to improve key performance indicators such as time to fill, cost per hire and increasing the quality of hire.
Oversee the recruitment team and RPO partnership across Europe and provide support and motivation to the team.

Required Qualifications:

Show evidence of having held increasingly senior leadership roles responsible for creating sourcing, recruiting and deployment strategies across multiple European countries.

Have experience of establishing strategic partnerships with RPO vendors in Europe.

Demonstrate strong leadership and consensus building skills in a dynamic environment.

Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

Exhibit strong project management, change management and organisational skills.

Demonstrate ability to perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Demonstrate ability to persuade and influence decision makers.

Possess excellent business acumen and analytical skills to develop trends and outcomes to provide fact based solutions.

Possess strong collaboration, teamwork and partnership skills.
Batchelor's Degree required, masters degree preferred.

A professional qualification (CIPD, SHRM or equivalent) is a preference.
