DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for developing and driving the strategy that supports the business needs; Align business and HR to ensure delivery of business goals and direction. Act as a resource to business leaders on all aspects of organizational effectiveness, including: staffing/on- boarding, performance management, compensation strategies, ER issues and leadership coaching. Use employee insights to guide business leaders actions that result in high levels of employee engagement and retention; Guide and evolve the employment process to assist the organization in the hiring of qualified individuals and by counseling management on selection; Coach for leadership and management excellence. Define the people and organizational capabilities needed for success and build a human capital plan that supports it; Develop succession plans and people pipelines that drive individual success and overall business development. Evaluate employee performance programs including annual reviews and make suggestions for development and improvement; Maintain pay structure by recommending, planning and implementing guidelines and changes and managing payroll budgets in partnership with Finance cross functionally. Responsible for associate relations including counseling employees and managers to simplify, coach and empower for sound decisions. Manage organizational development including drafting job descriptions and updating job requirements to support role definition and clarity. Identify strategic training initiatives aimed at maximizing productivity and increasing retention. Coordinate and ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records and preparing defenses to charges; Consult with Corporate Associate Relations and legal counsel on employment and labor matters including immigration needs. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree 7+ years related experience for multi-state, multi-site at the managerial level Knowledge of CA employment law is required+ Previous retail experience is preferred.
