Director, Internal Communications
Warnaco Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a talented Director of Internal Communications to join our team. Warnaco's history dates back to 1874. The original company designed, manufactured and sold Warner's corsets to retailers. Since then, Warnaco has evolved into a global apparel leader which designs, sources, markets, licenses and distributes a broad line of intimate apparel, sportswear and swimwear worldwide. The Company's products are sold under several highly recognized brand names, including, but not limited to, Calvin Klein, Speedo, Chaps, Warner's and Olga.

Reporting to the SVP, Global Human Resources the Director of Internal Communications will be responsible for researching, developing, managing and measuring the effectiveness of internal corporate communication programs that inform, guide and engage Warnaco associates on a global basis towards achieving the Company's strategic business goals and performance objectives.

In addition, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement creative and strategic communication programs that engage associates, aligning them with business strategies while building employee engagement across the organization

  • Assess current communication strategies and practices as the central point of contact for all internal communications and partner with a variety of functional areas to develop communication programs targeted to associates

  • Stay informed of important trends that affect the industry and organization (technological, competitive, social, economic, etc.) understanding the position of the organization within a global context

  • Strategically execute internal communications from senior management to associates, including the design, development and delivery of compelling and relevant speeches, presentations, and other forms of communication materials

  • Maintain a clear vision for the operation and maintain a long-term, big-picture view

  • Foresee obstacles and opportunities

  • Create consistency in the look and feel of all internal communication to ensure consistent brand messaging

  • Manage budgets, outside vendors, and other resources as designated

  • Develop measurable metrics and assess the effectiveness of internal communication programs in helping achieve business goals

  • Partner closely with the Information Technology team to leverage Web 2.0 tools to improve communication

  • Lead the Corporate Giving efforts of Warnaco as a way to drive engagement and build the internal Warnaco brand

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will also posess:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field

  • 6+ years directly related internal communications experience - preferably in a large, international, multi-unit organizations with highly dispersed workforces

  • An ability to work successfully in a dynamic environment amidst a large number of internal partners

  • Ability to provide partnership to the CEO and senior management in the development and delivery of internal communication initiatives

  • Strategic understanding for communicating across demographics, cultures and national boundaries

  • Thorough knowledge of technological communication media and how to effectively integrate them to achieve enterprise communication results

  • Strong experience managing print and electronic media, including portal/website

  • Strong writing, research and organizational skills

  • Team player with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to perform both at a strategic and hands-on level in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

  • Foreign language skills and/or experience managing multi-language communications is desirable

  • Proficiency on Adobe Creative Suite, Apple OS and Video Editing is a plus
