We have an immediate opportunity for a Director, Human Resources to join our Professional Division Corporate HR team in Stamford, CT. This position will be responsible for providing strategic HR consulting, leadership and business partnership to a variety of organizations such as Technology, Reuters News for Professionals, and other Professional Division corporate constituencies located in our offices in Stamford, CT and New York City. Additionally, the role will drive and execute selected HR projects and programs at the division level.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
HR Strategy
Contribute to the development of the organization's HR strategy and plan based on the broader Thomson Reuters, Corporate, and Professional Division strategies, as well as consultation with senior leaders within the assigned client groups.
Business Partnership
Engage as a trusted advisor, coach and consultant for senior leaders to improve leadership capability, team effectiveness, strategic insight, and business performance. Play an integral role on the management teams of assigned clients to add value to their organizations. Establish the credibility and business knowledge necessary to actively contribute to, and execute, business decisions.
Talent
Drive and support the acquisition, retention and development of talent across the Corporate and Professional Division. Implement and manage the talent process and key programs to drive the focus on talent within assigned client groups. Be an advocate for the broader talent agenda within the Professional Division, building knowledge and networks of talent, integrating with other HR processes (such as recruitment, succession planning, leadership development, and learning), and promote the flow of talent across the business..
Organizational Development
Partner with the broader HR community to support the business in driving organizational alignment, managing through change, drive employee engagement, build a global mind-set, and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Reward
Drive and implement appropriate reward and role frameworks within assigned client groups and across the broader organization as needed or required.
HR Service Delivery
Provide direct operational support to senior leaders and serve as an escalation point for HR issues arising out of their organizations. Support the HR shared service delivery model by identifying issues, articulating business needs, and referring systemic problems to the appropriate HR service team or group. Drive core HR processes and initiatives within assigned client groups. Be proficient in the use of HR technology and act as a role model in driving the use of productivity tools and systems.
HR Functional Leadership and Project Management
As a member of the Corporate and Professional Corporate HR teams, contribute to the formulation of HR strategy, mission and objectives. Collaborate with HR team members to drive and implement cross-group, cross-division, and cross-unit initiatives. Contribute to the broader HR function by sharing knowledge and experience formally and informally. Demonstrate individual contribution to a high-performing HR team by leading and participating in project teams. Build individual capability through continuous learning and participation in external professional networks.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS
May provide direction and oversight to cross-functional work teams to assist in achieving the HR and business goals.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Partner with Finance as needed or appropriate to ensure alignment of HR, business and fiscal requirements. Identify opportunities to leverage resources and mitigate risks in the execution of HR strategies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
* Bachelors Degree in business or related degree required; Masters Degree preferred. * Ten+ (10) years relevant and progressive experience as an HR Business Partner, HR generalist or HR specialist. A mix of consultative, generalist and specialist skills are preferred.
Required Skills
* Strong personal credibility with ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders * Ability to work well in a complex, highly matrixed organization * Previous experience working with an international company/team required * In-depth HR functional knowledge, with HR generalist background and solid knowledge of key HR specialist functions (Talent, OE, etc.) * Excellent collaboration, consulting and communication skills, with the ability to influence business leaders and drive strategic HR and business objectives * Strong business acumen, project management, organizational, negotiation, analytical and conflict resolution skills * Ability to create, adapt and customize HR solutions to meet business needs. Experience working within a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment * Flexibility required to meet as needed with business partners and team members across the globe.
Travel * Up to 10% travel, some of which may be international.
