POSITION PURPOSE:

This position will set the strategy and lead Diversity and Inclusion initiatives for the Thomson Reuters Legal organization, part of Thomson Reuters. The individual will report in to the VP, Global Talent and will partner with Human Resources colleagues and the business to embed diversity and inclusion into the everyday culture of the organization.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Strategy and Development

* Set strategic objectives for global diversity and inclusion, aligned with the business goals for the Legal segment.
* Create global programs and initiatives that execute on the diversity and inclusion strategies defined.
* Develop and implement a global diversity talent strategy.
* Partner with the talent organization and the women's network to create strategies and programs to broaden the professional development of women and to increase the number of women in leadership positions.
* Create strategies to engage and inform executive leadership and the broader population on our diversity initiatives and programs.
* Partner with Human Resources and business leaders to drive diversity retention initiatives and embed inclusive principles into daily operational principles.
* Develop relationships with diversity champions globally and create regional, business driven diversity council(s) to help drive programs and raise awareness.

Operations Management

* Implement and manage diversity and inclusion change initiatives across the organization, including some site specific programs.
* Provide leadership, support, awareness of, and advocacy for the company's various employee resource groups, its women's network, and business unit diversity councils, where applicable. Provide oversight of their activities, events, and approve their budgets.
* Develop, analyze and manage the collection ofkey metrics to measure progress of the diversity agenda.

Awareness, Community and Industry Relations

* Identify, coordinate, and communicate community and industry related sponsorships and events.
* Drive and coordinate the completion of relevant diversity surveys, metrics, and tools.
* Create internal awareness events and campaigns with a site specific campus focus,

RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS:

* Responsibility for Employee Resource Group volunteer leaders.
* May manage a small staff in future.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education

* BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience required.

Experience

* 8-10 years of experience in related fields.
* Substantial experience in managing a global diversity program or a large company program within one country.
* Strong knowledge of diversity and cultural best practices. Global experience strongly preferred.
* Understanding of HR principles and practices.
* Experience leading large organizational development/change programs, preferably in a global organization.
* Exceptional leadership ability demonstrated by directing high performing, cross-functional teams to exceed their goals in a complex environment.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to build relationships and effectively influence and communicate across all management and organizational levels.
* Ability to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
