Description
The Benefits Leader is accountable for leading the design, implementation and management of benefit programs to ensure equity, competitiveness, affordability and statutory compliance. The Benefits Leader is expected to possess considerable expertise in design and administration of benefit programs including health care, global wellness, and disability. The Benefits Leader should also possess expertise in the financial evaluation of benefit programs and vendor relationship management.
This position reports to the Director of Benefits.
Responsibilities
1. Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.
· Demonstrates compliance with personal safety action plan
· Adheres to Owens Corning safety policies at all times
2. Benefit Strategy and Design
· Provide expertise and point of view in shaping the U.S. and global benefits strategy and design.
· Lead benefit procurement and implementation processes.
· Financially evaluate and recommend benefit program options.
· Provide expertise in global wellness strategy
Use knowledge of current and upcoming trends in the benefits marketplace and government regulations to drive strategy and ensure compliance.
3. Benefit Delivery
· Ensure quality delivery of health care benefits, wellness to employees, retirees and their families.
· Manage the vendor relationships and contracts.
4. Benefit Reporting
· Provide analytic review to determine cost effectiveness of benefit and wellness programs.
· Create usage cost analytics to evaluate efficiency of benefit programs.
5. Financial Management
· Create annual benefit budget for corporation
· Ensure spend is meeting budget
· Ensure costs and liabilities are recorded properly on company financial statements
· Compliance regulations are adhered to.
Work with treasury, actuaries and accountants to ensure compliance.
6. Project Leadership
· Provide leadership and oversight to Benefits projects
· Partner with the mergers and acquisitions team to determine financial implication of benefits
· Provide costing, concept and strategy to the labor relations team during the negotiation of bargaining agreements.
· Oversee continuous improvement benefit projects
Job Requirements
Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree
8-10 years previous experience in U.S. and global wellness and benefits
Prior people leadership experience.
Experience in project management leading process improvements.
Experience in benefits procurement and vendor management.
Knowledge and Abilities:
· Design and administration of benefit programs including health care, disability and global wellness
Understanding of retiree medical accounting, cost assumptions and FAS 106 & FAS 112.
Procurement process and vendor relationship management.
· Patient Protection and Affordability Care Act
