Position Description
Provides sales and general compensation consulting support to a business unit(s) within Medtronic's CardioVascular division.
Provides timely analytics/diagnostics/modeling for HR generalists, sales operations, sales management, finance, and other functions. Actively participates, and/or assists the CV Total Rewards Director, in the development of Medtronic CardioVascular's sales compensation programs, policies, procedures, practices, and communications. Requires ability to work independently, within given parameters, in providing consultative support for designated client groups.
Position Responsibilities
1. Partner with the business, HR Business Partners and Sales Finance in addressing the businesses compensation needs. This includes consulting on compensation issues, conducting job evaluations, determining strategic compensation solutions to business challenges, and designing, modeling and communicating commission plans and sales contests. 2. Responsible for developing and/or participating in compensation surveys to determine company's competitive position. Analyzes the results of the surveys and recommends compensation actions for sales roles. Partners with Corporate Total Rewards on non-sales roles. 3. Analyze compensation data for both internal and external constituents. Identify trends, establish metrics, and evaluate the success of compensation programs. Model projected payouts as requested. 4. Develop and conduct HR and manager training on compensation related topics. 5. Partner closely with the US Compensation team, International Compensation, Human Resources Operations Center, HR Systems and Finance to ensure SBU compliance with established company procedures and processes. 6. Provide leadership on the Recognition process and assist in the performance management process. 7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. Some of these duties may involve pan-CV or pan-Medtronic projects. With these projects, incumbent will interface with the appropriate parties to ensure an understanding of the process, timeline and compliance with requirements as it relates to the CV process. Communicates process to appropriate parties and conducts analysis of results and prepares materials for management.
Basic Qualifications
BS Degree in Business or Human Resources Advanced proficiency in PeopleSoft and Microsoft Excel. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Access, Work, Power Point and Outlook. 7+ years experience in compensation, HR systems, finance, or related field, with a strong preference for sales compensation consulting, design and modeling experience.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
MBA, MAIR or Masters in a related area Advanced computer/system skills. Proficiency/experience in Business Objects Medical device industry experience Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and planning. Strong proficiency in mathematical, statistical, and qualitative analysis techniques and tools Strong systems and process improvement skills. Strong proficiency in sales compensation or general compensation program design and implementation principles and activities. Strong relationship building, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work with all levels of management. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced, sales environment. Strong business acumen.
