Compensation Analyst – St. Petersburg Florida – Local candidates only.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Human Resources function plays an integral role in the success of PSCU through partnering with internal and external customers to help ensure the success of our most valuable assets, our employees.

The basic function of this position is to add value to PSCU by collaborating in developing, implementing and administering the PSCU-FS’ compensation program. This includes multiple locations and pay structures, job analysis, market pricing, job descriptions, grading, and communication.

Collaborates with the Benefits Analyst, including training as a backup on major duties and partnering on major projects and times of high volumes. May also be prime on some benefits duties. Also collaborates with and assists the Compensation and Benefits Administrator on the Compensation elements of that position.

Communications, teaming and partnering are crucial roles in this position.

As the department transitions to Total Rewards, will pick up additional related responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyzes market data to develop recommendations to adjust salary structures and merit matrices, according to company market philosophy, in order to attract, retain, and motivate employees.

2. Responds to inquiries from employees and management relating to salary administration and related areas. Ensures requests are handled efficiently.

3. Conducts job analysis to determine appropriate job grade, relying primarily on external equity (market pay) and secondarily on internal equity.

4. Determines FLSA status consistent with regulation provisions.

5. Participates in pay surveys and benchmarking studies to ensure that pay is competitive in our peer group. Analyzes the data and assists with making recommendations

6. Conducts analysis in order to recommend the average merit increase and develops the resulting merit matrix.

7. Develops and implements compensation related employee communication programs.

8. Conducts analysis and makes recommendations for special or ad-hoc compensation projects.

9. Assists with developing, revising and implementing incentive and recognition programs.

10. Assists in the design, analysis and recommendations on executive pay plans.

11. Assists in the design and delivery of training to new management personnel on compensation-related policies and procedures.

12. Collaborates with the Benefits Analyst, including training as a backup on major duties and partnering on major projects and times of high volumes. May also be prime on some benefits duties. Also collaborates with and assists the Compensation and Benefits Administrator on the Compensation elements of that position.

13. Provides assistance to other functions within Human Resources as requested to provide necessary support and lend expertise.

14. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

2. CCP Certification (Certified Compensation Professional) preferred.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Minimum of four years Compensation experience at the exempt level, with direct experience in job analysis, marketing pricing, FLSA, pay structures, merit matrices, pay surveys and related areas. Additional experience in benefits and other HR areas preferred.

1. Ability to partner with Human Resources and line customers in order to add value to their business.

2. Knowledge of related laws and regulations.

3. Ability to handle highly confidential information.

4. Understanding of business principles such as finance, marketing, customer service and operations.

5. Proficiency in PC Windows-based software, especially Word and Excel.

6. Experience with Lawson and Crystal Reports preferred.

7. Experience in positions in Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSO) and contact centers preferred.

8. Strong analytical skills with the ability to present and communicate compensation information.

9. Strong problem solving skills, with ability to handle sensitive issues in a confidential and professional manner.

10. Strong communications, interpersonal, teaming and partnering skills.
