Engineering & Construction client near Cedar Rapids is looking for a Project Buyer with 3-7+ years of experience supporting engineering, procurement & construction (EPC) projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the power generation industry and specifically on Wind Power projects. This is a "hands on" position that will require you to support all procurement activities from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
-> Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, expedite, and administer the procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontracts as assigned
-> Assist the Procurement Manager in planning, directing and coordinating procurement packages
-> Participate on a team to perform commercial bid evaluations of supplier proposals and help coordinate technical evaluations & recommendations
-> Prepare purchase order documents, procurement status reports and expediting reports
Requirements:
-> You need 3-7+ years of project procurement, project field procurement/materials management or EPC procurement related experience
-> Ideal candidate will have procurement experience supporting large power plant, T&D or Wind EPC construction projects
-> Bachelor's degree is considered a PLUS
-> A CPM or similar certification is considered a plus
-> Need to be local to Cedar Rapids, IA or within commuting distance
