ASSOCIATE CHIEF NURSING OFFICER

SUMMARY:

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer responsible for all assigned departments and duties from the CNO, and to ensure the highest quality of nursing care across the hospital. The Associate Chief Nursing Officer assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the departments and staff to assure quality service on a 24 hours basis. The Associate Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards complying with corporate policy and procedures, for managing supplies and equipment in departments, for promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and for appropriate resource management through the processes of performance improvement.

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of medical terminology. Previous utilization review or case management experience preferred. Previous Supervisory experience require. Computer proficiencies to enter and retrieve data, to assemble and organize date, to use, analyze, and integrate data from diverse sources. Use of Internet preferred: e-mail and calendar required. Previous experience with hospital information systems preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Florida license. Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree in nursing/healthcare administration preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of three years of clinical experience in the healthcare setting, preferably acute-care hospital.
