_MH - Documentation Specialist Department: _MH - MEDICAL CENTER CODING Schedule: Full-time Regular Shift: Day Hours: 8:00 - 4:30 Salary Range: PB 20 (Min 18.55 Mid 24.12 Max 29.69) Job Details: * Job Summary: Facilitates concurrent documentation of the medical record by working collaboratively with the medical staff and case managers to clarify conditions/diagnoses and procedures and assure accurate DRG assignment. Identifies cases for Physician Advisor intervention and coordinates physician advisor reviews. Collects statistics from reviews and maintains accurate records of review activities in accordance with department and regulatory agency guidelines.
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Education: Related Associates degree or diploma from college coding program.
Required License: Certified Coding Specialist or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist/Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner with the agreement to achieve dual certification within 2 years and 7 months of employment.
Preferred License: Certified Coding Specialist and Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist.
Required Experience: Minimum of two years of hospital coding experience.
Preferred Experience: Three to five years of hospital coding experience.
